Janet Rayor's stilt walking and unicycling is appealing to all ages and
events -- from tight crowds to small individuals, from up-scale
elegance to down-home picnics! Her stunning characters include
a Peacock, Carmen á la Miranda, Tie-Chicken, Venetian Lady, Sugarplum
Fairy, Butterfly, Bo Peep, Dragonfly, Firebird, Betsy Ross and Singing
Woman in a Red Dress. Her magical performances - often
compared to a Cirque du Soleil act - have touched people across
the country.
Janet designs and creates all her own stilt walking costumes
to perform for all sizes of corporations, festivals, fairs, private parties,
shows, benefits and openings throughout the year. .
Janet has the amazing ability to engage, stay in character and dance with
grace as though she isn't really on the tiny tips of two 2' x 2' poles.
Her warm, effortless style is based on years of experience in professional
dance, theatre and mask companies. She has charmed high- and low-brow
audiences around the country for over a decade.
Also a vocalist, she opened the Red Cat Theatre of downtown LA's Walt
Disney Concert Complex singing French street music while dancing on her
stilts!
Janet has specialized in roaming performance, including engagements at
Seattle Seahawks' opening tailgate party, St. Louis Arts Festival, Wildflower
Music Festival in Texas, Los Angeles County Fair, Holter Art Museum in
Montana, California State Fair and Seattle Symphony's Benaroya Hall.
Janet will accommodate two characters in any day-long
booking. She is at ease with concrete, marble, gravel, grass, inclined
and uneven surfaces -- just no quicksand or wet, moveable dance
floors!
