Rouge's French cabaret & cafe music transports you to the cobblestones
of France to a time when the streets reverberated with exhilarating waltzes
and passionate chanson! Their evocative music and great showmanship
allows Rouge to do knock-out performances or play more inward for an elegant,
fun atmosphere.
Rouge plays lots of good variety: up-beat
waltzes, tangos, ballads and jazzy swing tunes
(with emphasis on the joyous, fast waltzes!).
Great musicians, great instrumentation,
classy outfits and lots of finesse from 10 plus
years together.
They are very much in demand for benefits, private parties, corporate
events, festivals, weddings, museum art openings, conferences, colleges,
schools, dances and concerts around the western U.S. Rouge has
played repeatedly at the Four Seasons/Fairmont Olympic Hotel, Microsoft,
Seattle's Out to Lunch, the Portland Art Museum, Spokane's Center Stage,
Benaroya Hall's Founders Room and the Chateau Ste. Michelle, among many
others.
The full band consists of vocalist Janet Rayor, accordionist Steve Rice,
violinist Ruthie Dornfeld, bass player Cary Black and guitarist Dave Bartley. (Note: Double
bass may be added for larger events or a trio may be used for smaller
events.)
